What is the difference between Version 1 and Version 2 of the Universal Projector Remote Control?

Both versions support the majority of popular projector brands and models currently in the market. Going forward, projector manufacturers are switching to 5-digit code libraries to accommodate new models and resolutions. Version 2 of the UPRC uses this 5-digit codes addressing, and is also backwardly compatible with current 4-digit models.

How can I tell if my UPRC is Version 1 or Version 2?

Inspect the label on the underside of your UPRC. If it does not contain the capital letters "V2", then it is Version 1 (the original version) of the UPRC. If it displays "V2", then it is the new version (Version 2).

The manual does not list my projector brand. How can I use the VP3720 Universal Projector Remote Control?

You can try the searching for a code feature of the remote. Some projectors use the same set of IR codes from different brands. The steps are outlined on pages 8-9 of the user’s guide. Should this still not work, then the only other recourse if to try and get hold of an original remote and teach the universal remote the buttons from the original remote.
